ABOUT ME
Konrad E. K. Schmitt received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University, USA, in 2023, and the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil, in 2019. Dr. Schmitt is a Power Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Pullman, USA, where he supports the design, development, and validation of Distribution Management System (DMS) applications that improve reliability, continuity, quality, and safety of power delivery. Dr. Schmitt’s technical expertise is in the field of power distribution systems, where he has more than fifty technical publications and one book chapter related to network reconfiguration, self-healing, outage restoration and management, renewable energy integration, voltage control, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation. Since 2017, Dr. Schmitt has been an active IEEE Power & Energy Society volunteer, where he has held local and global positions, besides contributing to IEEE Technical Committees. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and member of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), Tau Beta Pi (TBP), and Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) Honor Societies.
